COMMUNAL BIN REVIEW – PHASE A UPDATE – Portobello
We are starting the roll out of the bin hubs in Portobello area from next week . This include the installation of the corralling (bull bars), the placing of correct number and type of bins and implementation of the new collection routes with every other day collections for non-recyclable waste and mixed recycling in the following streets:

- Mentone Avenue
- Abercorn Terrace
- Seafield Road West
- Williamfield Square
- Bellfield Street
- Promenade Terrace
- Lee Crescent
- Pittville Street
- Portobello High Street
- Windsor Place
- Laing Terrace
- Pipe Lane
- Marlborough Street
- James Street
- Adelphi Place
- Straiton Place
- Joppa Road
- Adelphi Grove
- Wilson’s Park
- Morton Street
- Figgate Street
- Figgate Bank
- Southfield Place
- Bath Street
- Ramsay Place
The specific new bin hub locations are publicly available on our website and I also have attached a copy to this email.
We will progressively swapping the bins currently on street with new or refurbished ones to ensure the appropriate number of bins for non-recyclable waste, mixed recycling, glass and food waste are provided to residents.
Within the next couple of weeks, each resident will receive a letter with a leaflet enclosed which includes the relevant information about the updated service (attached).
Moreover posters providing information on which bin to use for each material will be available on the back of stair doors (attached)
