A delay to last week’s Update as we attended a funeral in the far south of England. Trains worked very well in both directions. A sad occasion, but it was lovely to have the opportunity to catch up with a couple of close friends and family in person – at last.
Another excuse for Update delay was to make sure this got in – the wonderful Heart Talk Porty: https://hearttalkporty.land/programme/ Fantastic process for working out how we live and work together and get around in Portobello sustainably and what is important to us as a community that cares about each other.
Scottish Water say a section of sewer network has collapsed on Portobello Beach at the Figgate Burn outlet. It’s a very complex repair and they’re working on plans to carry this out safely. The public should keep a safe distance from the area which is barriered off, and notices put up. Scottish Water are monitoring the area closely to keep the beach clean and work will start on the repair as quickly as possible.
This week the period of Representations started on City Plan 2030. See more through the link – and respond to say what you DO like about it. You’re very good and quick to say what you don’t like, which can be dispiriting. Link here: https://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/cityplan2030
