Invitation to a Home Safety Information Evening: Tuesday 4th December, 7.30pm at Portobello Police Station
With the darker and longer nights, it is that time of year in which we must all be extra vigilant about the security of our homes and those of our neighbours.
Whilst Portobello continues to be a safe place to live and work, it is a depressing reality that some criminals intentionally choose the Christmas period to commit theft, due to the knowledge that items of high value are often within homes.
In response to this, I want to let you know of three things:
1) My colleagues in both response policing teams and the criminal investigation unit work hard all year round to keep your property safe and bring any offenders to justice. We have had some terrific success stories this year. But we need your help. Please report any suspicious activity immediately to police on 101 or 999
2) The Police Scotland website has a wealth of knowledge about how to protect your property at www.scotland.police.uk under the ‘Keep Safe’ tab
3) You are warmly invited to attend a home safety information evening, which is taking place on Tuesday 4th December at 7.30pm at Portobello Police Station
I intend on doing all I can to support this community, so please do not hesitate to contact me regarding this or any other matter.
Best wishes,
PC Matthew McPherson
