Where: Holyrood Park (Arthurs Seat) in Edinburgh (the volunteer registration point is by the Education Centre in the playing fields) Postcode EH8 8HG

Timings: Roles start from either 9.30am or 10am and last until approx 3pm.

Access: Parking is available for volunteers

We need support with marshalling the run and co-ordinating participants at the start and finish. We’d love to work with your club members on this and CHSS would donate £20to your club funds for every person you would be able to provide at the event. All we ask is that they are 18 or over on Sunday 13 September and are reliable, willing to muck in and happy to be on their feet and outdoors for a few hours!

What you need to bring: comfortable shoes (no heels please), suitable weather gear, e.g. a raincoat and layers is advisable as it can be windy. A charged mobile phone. A smile!

What we will provide you with: A full briefing in advance (via email) and on the day plus any extra equipment you will need e.g. High Visibility vest.

Refreshments: We will have tea/coffee vouchers available to all volunteers and chocolate and bananas. To enable us to keep costs down if you think you will need a lunch please bring along a packed lunch or extra snacks. There will be a refreshment van on site where you can buy additional food too.

Volunteering roles available

• Registration and the start/finish area – this is helping greet and co-ordinate runners, register them and hand out goody bags, water and t-shirts at the end.
• General and obstacle marshals –  This involves helping keep an eye on the runners, helping hand out water at the water station and even getting involved in some of the obstacles themselves if the volunteer wishes!
