Posted on: March 5th, 2015

I am delighted to provide you with information about the upcoming Age Scotland partnership event.

The event will be held on Thursday 19th March from 10am – 3pm at the City Chambers, High Street Edinburgh EH1 1YJ.  Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

The theme for the event is ‘Older People Shaping the Future’. Throughout the day we will demonstrate the value and experience of older people in shaping policies and services at a national, city-wide and local level.  We will also provide information on opportunities and services for older people at a local and national level.

Throughout the day you will:

Learn about the work of the Scottish Older People’s Assembly (SOPA) and have the chance to give your opinion to shape their 2015 Action Plan

Hear from a citizen representative of the Joint Integration Board about her role in bringing Integration to Edinburgh’s health and social care services

Learn about Age Scotland’s Have Your Say campaign and vote for the top issues you think should be addressed by our campaigns team

Learn about the Local Opportunities for Older People (LOOPs) initiative taking place across Edinburgh

Hear examples of local projects taking ideas forward and addressing change in their community

Hear about the way Age Scotland are addressing loneliness and isolation through the Silver Line Scotland

Have time to talk to other attendees and share ideas and opinions

Places at this event are limited, so we are therefore offering only two places per group in the first instance.
