As part of the Barratt Development, north of Newcraighall Road the disused railway bridge that crosses the A6095 is to be demolished. To accomplish these works Newcraighall Road (A6905) will be closed for 7 days.
This closure will start on Monday 17th November and run until Sunday 23rd November 2014. This closure will cause inconvenience and disruption to the travelling public. To help reduce disruption, a pedestrian footway has been construction within the Barratt development site, this footway will be tarred, fenced and lit. This will provide 24 hour, 7 days a week access for pedestrian and cycle traffic. All vehicular traffic, including public transport, will be diverted via the A1. Public Transport will divert through Queen Margaret University and pick up the route at the roundabout at Whitehill Farm Road. There will be a free shuttle bus running between this point and Newcraighall East. (times to be confirmed)
