Whilst the works have been on-going since the start of the year we will need to close Duddingston Road West to road traffic on Thursday 11^th September for a period of up to 6 weeks. At present we anticipate the road opening again to road traffic on Wednesday 28^th October 2014. For a short period prior to, and after, the full road closure the road will be reduced to a single running lane and traffic will be managed by temporary traffic lights. Pedestrians will still have access past the works site via the temporary footbridge that we have erected.

During the period of time which the road is closed to through traffic the number 42 bus will not be operating its usual route, but Balfour Beatty will be providing a courtesy shuttle bus to run between North Cairntow Road and Duddingston Park South. This shuttle bus will be free of charge and will connect with the number 42 bus at Duddingston Park South. I have attached a copy of a drawing showing the location of the works, the diversion route and the route that our shuttle bus will take to replace the number 42.
