Two community groups have been successful in applying for funding from the Community Grants Fund run by the East Neighbourhood Partnership.
Portobello Sailing & Kayaking Club has been awarded £1,000 to fund 3 days of water sports in June for 20-25 pupils from Castlebrae Community High School. These activities will comprise rowing, sailing and kayaking, with pupils being able to gain a Royal Yachting association level 1 Sailing Certificate.
Big Things on the Beach has been awarded £1,500 to enable the first stage of public engagement in a project (working title ‘Outfront’). The funds will be used for publicity and the organisation of an event to be held in October or November to generate and revitalise interest in public art in Portobello and to present the forthcoming project and invite involvement from the community and businesses.
