A number of community groups in Portobello have been awarded money from the Portobello & Craigmillar Community Grants Fund. 

The first was to St Philip’s Church on behalf of Dementia Friendly Portobello for £250 to provide leaflets as part of a campaign to make Portobello a Dementia Friendly community. The second was to Portobello Community Centre for £600 to run English as a Second Language classes in Portobello Library and an inter-cultural friendship event in the Wash House to welcome Roma families to the Portobello community.

An award of £552 has also been made to Portobello Sailing and Kayaking Club for a new skiff.
